Hello!

I'd be everso grateful to hire someone to give me some "basics"
help with Linux.

I can meet you anywhere in Davis or thereabouts.

I've got Ubuntu, but haven't been able to find a statement of what
its particular flavor is,
running on:
64-bit Intel CPU,
16 GiB memory (15.6 shown in details),
and a mostly-unused 500 GB hard drive.

I've been using Windows since the early 1990s, and used DOS a
little bit before that but have completely forgotten everything
(wasn't much) I once knew. Haven't used Macs much.

I'd like to get some good advice about transitioning permanently
to Linux, day-to-day use-suggestions, and help with app
installations.

I hope someone will reply with: hourly rate, availability, a bit about
qualifications, contact info, and anything else you'd like to say or ask.

Tomorrow (March 30) mid-day would be great for me! I don't
know how long it would take. Do you?
