LUGOD at LinuxWorld Expo 2004
LUGOD exhibited at
LinuxWorld Expo
in San Francisco, August 2004.
We were given a 10'x20' booth to share with various other User Groups.
The LUGs on that participated were:
LUGOD (Davis),
BALUG (San Francisco),
and PenLUG (Redwood City).
Photos!
When did it take place?
The Expo portion of LWE took place Tuesday, August 3
through Thursday, August 5. Floor hours were
10am-5pm on Tuesday and Wednesday, and 10am-4pm on Thursday.
What did we get
LinuxWorld Expo (IDG) provided us with:
- Booth space (10'x20') to share with two other LUGs
- Carpet
- Table
- Chairs
- 100 expo passes for LUG members
(Contact Emily Stumpf
if you'd like any)
- 15 exhibitor passes to share with two other LUGs
What was our purpose there?
Our main purpose was to get the word out about the various user groups,
so that new Linux users know they have a community that they can become part
of, and get help from.
We also promoted
Picn*x13, the free picnic and
barbecue celebrating the Linux operating system's birthday. (That event
took place in Sunnyvale, California, the Saturday following
LinuxWorld Expo).
