CivicActions is seeking individuals with experience in continuous
integration, continuous development, automated testing, scripting of server
configuration, and repeatable process automation. Is comfortable working in
an agile and lean environment to routinely deploy changes. For this
position, a minimum of 2 years delivering complex digital projects in an
agile environment is required. This role works within our agile process as
a DevOps resource for the scrum team with our clients in the public sector.
The current position requires on site interactions with clients and users
in Sacramento California. You must be a Sacramento resident or be willing
to travel to Sacramento for this project. US citizenship is required for
this position.

   - Strength in DevOps for Linux hosted Java and Ruby on Rails environments
   - Develop and executing server configuration scripting and configuration
   management tools (e.g. Ansible)
   - Experience with Apache load balancer, web and proxy server
   - Using and working in team environments that use agile methodologies
   (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, Lean)
   - Use of version control systems, specifically Git and GitHub
   - Quickly researching and learning new programming tools and techniques
   - Writing and working with open source solutions and community
   - Use of continuous deployment tools (e.g. Docker)
   - Use of continuous integration tools (e.g. Jenkins)
   - Configuring OpenSSL for connections between PostgreSQL database
   servers and APIs.
   - Virtual machine configuration and management (e.g. HotSpot Java VM)
   - Background job management and scheduling using RunDeck
   - Java Message Service (JMS) implementation and integration using OpenMQ
   - Use of modern continuous monitoring tools (e.g. DataDog)
   - Authoring developer-friendly documentation (e.g., API documentation,
   deployment operations)
   - Providing operating system administration support

   - Intense curiosity about people and human interactions
   - Ability to appreciate and communicate with both introverts and
   extroverts
   - Desire to become an extraordinary communicator by searching inside
   yourself
   - Ability to see patterns and identify unstated needs
   - Experience with GitHub, Pivotal Tracker, Slack
   - Experience with interface connectors (e.g. IBM CICS Transaction
   Gateway)
   - Centralized logging (e.g. Splunk)
   - Complementary/specialized skills such as coding and debugging are also
   a plus

Historically, we have been a fully distributed remote team. This current
position will require being located in Sacramento, California for a minimum
of three months and possibly longer, therefore we are seeking candidates
who reside in Sacramento or are willing to commute on a daily or weekly
basis.
