[vox-tech] recommended partition scheme for a dual boot windows 7/ubuntu machine?

Some general comment on the thread:
* /boot used to be required, legacy bios required the 2nd stage grub
   loader to be in the first 1024 sectors.  No longer.  It's of
   little utility these days.
* /home makes sense, so you can reformat / if need be.
* swap partition used to be the standard, 2x ram.  Seems like it's
   much less necessary these days.  If you aren't planning on swapping
   heavily I'd consider just a swap file in /.  Or even just go without
   and see how it goes.  I have 16GB ram and zero swap and haven't
   had any issues with heavy desktop use for a year or so now.
