: takashi ishihara,
:
: you will not EVER send this kind of email to the list again.
:
What kind?

: you had no reason to slam jay. none at all. i can make fun of your

Did I slam him?

: atrocious spelling and god awful grammar, but that wouldn't be very
: civil of me considering you're not a native speaker, right?

Go ahead.

: maybe jay isn't a native speaker of building computers. you just really
: cut into the guy HARD. your reply was unnecessary, unprovoked and

How could you tell that?
I mean, I honestly made my best to feed info that I believe useful to him.
I never intended to cut him or whatever. Why do you want to make me look
bad?

: just plain indecent. it was just as bad as someone making fun of your
: english.

I don't see any relation, but let me tell you this.
I like to know whatever spell or grammer mistakes of my english.
I can at least check spell, but I'm too lazy to do so.
For grammer, I don't know. But you can tell me so that I'd have a
chance to correct the grammer (thus improving my knowledge). So I
really appreciate that. And I don't mind if you intend to make me
laugh or not.

: this was one of the most uncivil replies i've ever seen to an honest
: question.

It's good to say this in public so that you can demonstrate how
civilized you are. But it sounds really bad to me because (for some
unknown reason) you're assuming it was an honest question, and you
somehow believe my reply was uncivil. Of course you can ask ppl on
this mailing list and see if majority of ppl agree w/ you or not,
and using the democracy to justify yourself.

: we live in such a cruel world. you can be as cruel as you want. but

Can I?

: not on my list. lugod is *my* house, and you are a guest. lugod is

Oh, I thought it's for everybody's.

: for nice and polite people. you can go to linux@math.ucdavis.edu if you

I thought I have been polite enough. BTW, what is "polite" really mean?
It's scary to realize when we need to be (and intentionally) polite.

: want to post this kind of crap.

I don't get this line. What does linux@math do?
Do they fix my grammer?

: if you want to stay on the list, i suggest you send jay a nice apology.

Ok, in order to apologize, one need to know for what.
But I can just say "I am sorry".

: either public or private. your choice. but i suggest public just to

I can do both.

: show everyone here that you're not the dick this email makes you out to
: be.

Ok, so what does dick mean?
My dictionary does not have that words.
It must be really a polite word because you the civirized person uses.
Can anyone explain? TIA
