Overview: 
The UNIX Systems & Network Administrator will be part of the team that
designs, implements and maintains infrastructure components. The
incumbent must have hands-on familiarity with all aspects of data
center, corporate IT and production website operations. The production
environment is 100% RedHat Enterprise Linux. This position also requires
occasional maintenance of the company's corporate IT infrastructure
which consists primarily of Microsoft Windows based servers and
applications. 

Responsibilities: 
1. Responsible for troubleshooting, configuring, implementing, and any
other duties required to maintain reliable application servers,
switches, routers and storage networks devices. 
2. Develop tools, with the appropriate scripting languages, to
monitor/test the software environment and deploy them into production.
Make recommendations to management for appropriate adjustments based on
monitoring/testing. 
3. Perform steps using established procedures to ensure that back-end
software and computers have a high degree of integrity/reliability. 
4. Perform scalability/capacity planning to support business growth. 
5. Support new project implementations. 
6. Make design recommendations to software and hardware projects and
participate in technical reviews. 
7. Support performance analysis and tuning of the database and
application systems. 
8. This position requires occasional movement of servers and other
related hardware. Candidate must be able to lift 40lbs, stoop, bend
over, reach overhead and occasionally stand for several hours at a time.


Qualifications: 
1. Bachelor*s in computer science or related field, or equivalent work
experience. 
2. 4+ years experience in systems administration. 
3. Hands-on experience with the following technologies: 
* Major network services & protocols (DNS, DHCP, SSH, NTP, NFS, HTTP,
RCS, etc.) 
* Network security & monitoring tools (Snort, Nagios, MRTG, etc.) 
* Major network applications (Apache, Postfix, Samba, Wiki, etc.) 
* TCP/IP networking tools (traceroute, tcpdump, ethereal, etc.) 
* CheckPoint firewall software & appliances Cisco router/switch
hardware, Cisco IOS, Cisco CatOS Alteon load balancing switches
Linux/Windows interoperatbility Redhat Provisioning Service Redhat
Enterprise Linux WS/ES/AS.
