Description: High level Linux and Windows System Administrator with at
         least 5-10 years experience in an EDA engineering environment.
         Responsible for supporting a mission critical, 24x7x365
         engineering environment consisting of RedHat Linux and Windows
         servers. Responsibilities include providing daily user,
         system, and telecom support, installation and
         setup/configuration of new hardware/software and EDA tools,
         working with local vendors on hardware and software
         procurement.    The ideal candidate will come from a strong
         Linux and Window systems administration background with
         experience working in a multi-project EDA engineering
         environment. Will be responsible for managing daily
         operations, NAS storage, backup and disaster recovery, a large
         Linux compute farm, and corporate network infrastructure
         (Windows Exchange 2003 based). The candidate will be
         responsible for managing projects related to Linux server
         capacity planning, new Linux infrastructure
         design/build-out/deployments, improving Linux server
         performance and availability, implementing new server
         monitoring and tuning technologies and complex troubleshooting
         and problem resolution of major server issues. In addition,
         the system administrator will be responsible for assisting in
         day to day system administration duties on an as needed and
         on-call basis.    The position reports to the Director of
         Operations.    Primary Responsibilities:    - Develop/maintain
         procedures to comply with IT best practices;  - Maintain
         meticulous documentation of systems configurations and
         procedures;  - System configuration, backup/recovery and
         security issues;  - Develop and implement standard deployment
         practices;  - Monitor open-source components for suggested and
         critical patches and updates.  - Assist users with problem
         resolution and address system usage issues;  - Work with users
         to schedule application of patches, software updates and
         hardware upgrades;  - Define and test disaster recovery
         systems and procedures;  - Monitor system health and resource
         consumption;  - Work with hardware and software vendors to
         resolve hardware outages and software defects;  - Keep current
         with latest Linux/Windows hardware and software technology,
         and evaluate technologies as needed;  - Develop key automation
         tools for streamlining workflow and systems management;  -
         Support of Nortel?s Norstar MICs and CallPilot phone system;
         - Configure and build new Linux images for production and
         development use;    Qualifications:    - Bachelor of Science
         or equivalent;  - Experience in a semiconductor company;  -
         RedHat Certified Engineer certification or equivalent
         experience;  - Thorough knowledge of Intel x86, Itanium and
         AMD Opteron based hardware;  - Strong knowledge of NFS, NIS,
         DNS, DHCP, and automounter;  - Knowledge of capacity planning
         and utilization monitoring techniques;  - Knowledge of NAS
         devices;  - Strong TCP/IP networking skills;  - Experience
         configuring and managing LSF;  - Experience supporting and
         multi-project EDA engineering environment with a solid
         understanding of the EDA development cycle, tools and
         processes;  - Must have strong interpersonal, oral and written
         communication skills, be extremely self-motivated, be able to
         work with minimal day-to-day guidance and have the ability to
         own problems through to resolution;  - Experience developing
         custom Linux Kickstart configurations;  - Experience managing
         enterprise backups solutions;  - Strong PERL and shell
         programming skills;  - Experienced with UNIX/Windows
         integration and compatibility issues;  - Experienced with
         Windows 2000, 2003 Server and XP;  - Experienced with
         Microsoft Exchange 2003;  - Remote (network) installation,
         system monitoring experience;  - Significant experience
         troubleshooting complicated system problems;
