News

  • Dave recommends "The Hacker Ethic" as a good read.
  • Steve suggests people interested in Linux Router Project (LRP) possibly look into LEAF.
  • Star Office 5.2 Companion book released.
  • Pete recommends Kernel Projects book.

Project Reports

  • Demo - The next demo will be July 21st, 3pm, at the Davis Food Co-Op. Contact Henry House if you'd like to help.

  • Installfests - LUGOD helped out with RoseLUG's installfest (in Roseville) on July 15th. About 8 people were helped. We're looking to have an extra-large IF (with SacLUG and RoseLUG) in September.

  • LERT - No news.

  • Library - Books added include: Linus Torvalds' Just For Fun, donated by Carl Yates; Python Essential Reference and EFF's SDMI hacking book, donated by VA Linux; Linux Configuration and Installation Little Black Book, donated by Bill Kendrick, and a pair of Running Linux. Mandrake 7.2 (7-disc set) was donated by Marianne Waage.

Other Business

  • Financial Report - $42.40 in voluntary dues were collected.

Presentation

  • Sid Batra of HelloBrain.com talked about their company, and how they're working with Intel on IA64-related projects.
