We're excited to have Alex Mandel and Michele Tobias (Geospatial
Consulting, UC Davis) as our presenters! They will teach us how to design
custom styles for OpenStreetMap base maps and layers in QGIS. They'll
also cover the rudiments of spatial analysis.
If you don't have QGIS on your laptop yet, we recommend downloading
version 2.8 before this meeting.
After Alex and Michele's tutorial, Maptimer Rich Webster will give a
quick demo of his project
https://report.parkwatchreport.com
and tell us about the various open source mapping tools he used to
build it.

"There are two ways of constructing a software design. One way is to
make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies. And the other
way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies."
