I'm very pleased with my dedicated unmanaged server from
didedicated.com. The site presents as Windows-only hosting, but
I emailed them and they were happy to set me up with an Ubuntu
Core 2 Duo machine and, since the OS is free, I got a discount!
I think I was their first Linux customer.

Cheap, fast, root access, loads of bandwidth, great ping times.
Just speaking as a satisfied customer.

You might not need a dedicated machine, but maybe someone here
would like to share with you.
