For those who live under a rock, Andy Jones is host of
"Dr. Andy's Poetry & Technology Hour" on KDVS radio (90.3FM in Davis).
He has had a number of LUGOD members as guests, and also regularly
announcements meetings (or, at the least, plays our KDVS PSA), during his
show.  He's even turned up to at least one meeting. ;^)

PRESS RELEASE:  01-30-06

Owner John Natsoulas will be hosting a Gala Publication Debut & Reading at
his Davis art gallery, Friday, February 10th, 2006, from 7:00-9:00 PM.

Split Stock (January 2006), a dual collection of poems by Brad Henderson &
Andy Jones, is the First Book in Natsoulas Press' New Poetry & Art Series.
 Later in 2006, the second in this series will be book of poetry and
original art by beat legend, Amiri Baraka.  The event is free, open to the
public, and will take place at the John Natsoulas Gallery, 521 1st Street,
Davis, CA,  95616.

Attendees will get to meet Brad & "Dr. Andy," the dynamic academic duo from
UC Davis and local KDVS radio, and also the emcees of the City of Davis'
Downtown Poetry Night & other literary outreach events.  Guests can also
meet the artists--Deborah Hamon, Robert Ranson, Frank Damiano, and
others--whose work is featured in the book.  An author performance and
signing will follow the reception.

Brad Henderson holds a BS in mechanical engineering and MFA in creative
writing.  He is the author of the Phi Kappa Phi Award winning novel, Drums.
 He has worked as a nightclub drummer, design engineer, cowboy, and
corporate consultant, and now teaches writing full-time at University of
California, Davis.  A fifth generation resident, Henderson grew up in the
City of Davis and attended K through 12 in the local schools.

Andy Jones earned an MA and PhD in English at the University of California,
Davis, where he has been teaching for the English Department and University
Writing Program since 1990. Originally from Washington DC, Andy now lives
in Davis with his wife and three children. Since 2000, Andy has hosted ³Dr.
Andy¹s Poetry and Technology Hour² on radio station KDVS.

John Natsoulas, gallery owner, publisher, and local artist advocate, was
recently featured in Solano Magazine as one of this region's top-ten most
important persons "who make a difference."  He is a native to Davis and has
contributed significantly to the community's art culture by hosting annual
events such as the Beat Conference and monthly showings of the "best of the
best" contemporary art in the Sacramento Valley.
