Some significant developments related to open-source software have come up lately in US government. Possibly, the most important one relates to a circular from the Office of Management and the Budget (OMB). For education, this can expand the ability to apply for grants that have been unavailable in the past. I covered this in the following article. Also, you have find the section on Common Criteria important.
