I have a buddy who has comcast cable internet, and he claims that he can =

staticly define his IP and it works just fine. (They also will have a har=
d=20
time figureing out who had the IP :-) ) YMMV.

This only works if normal service is DHCP. If it is dhcp, as long as you=20
remain in contact with the DHCP server, your IP won't change anyway. If i=

PPPoE, you're SOL.
