[vox-tech] computing relative path for autoconf

Has anyone used the ax_compute_relative_paths for autoconf?

I am trying to use it and I just can't seem to get it to compute the
relative path. I have image files in datadir/appname and I would like
the app to access them from the bin folder. I tried putting the following
in my configure.ac file but I just can't seem to access the computed 
relative path.

AX_COMPUTE_RELATIVE_PATHS([bindir:datadir:bin_to_data])

Has anyone used this? I am new to autoconf and friends.
