[vox-tech] trouble generating images with PHP 4.2.2

Actually, I just realized I have the same problem with your snippet and also
mail().
I have Red Hat 7.2 and it is configured with these options. (notice --with-gd)

So, seems like more work needs to be done even after this option is compiled in.
