[vox-tech] mysql and linux - tech help

Ive gotten that error twice.  Both times it was due to mysql not running as
root and some weird permissions problem with /tmp or /var/tmp.

Problem is right now, I don't remember exactly what I had to do to fix
it(obviously fix the perms problem, but how is unclear to me right now)
