Hello there,

My company is expanding our SF office (read: it's currently very small
so you'll be one of the first staff with a high potential for
seniority as it grows.) We currently have one vacancy at the moment
for a system analyst. Here is the job description and application
instruction:

ABOUT THE COMPANY

We make software for trading stocks, options, futures, etc. We also
provide software-as-a-service right out of our data centers. Arguably
we're the current world leader in this business. I can't tell you who
but you'd recognize many of our clients' names. The company has
turned profit every year since I started 4+ years ago, even during the
market crash. We have about 1500 employees world-wide. We're traded
on the LSE under the ticker FDSA, and a part of the FTSE 250 (don't
worry about it if that doesn't mean anything.)

We are dually headquartered in London and New York, but we started in
London. The SF office is located in the SF financial area, right by
the piers. The plan for the SF office is to serve as a backup office
for NY so assuming it grows as planned it'll get quite decent in size.
The tentative plan for the new hire is to send her/him to our NY
office for ~1 month training in the financial market and our software
technology. So you'll get a free trip to New York City, and I'd be
happy to show you around.

We give full medical benefits, 401(k) matching, education assistance
(some restrictions apply), and gym membership subsidization. Most new
hires start out with 2 weeks of vacation but get 1 week extra after
their first year (to match the standard 3 week starting vacation in
UK), and 1 day extra every annual year. The salary and bonus is quite
decent but your mileage may vary.

We hire smart and amicable people, typically right out of college and
train them. Many of our best people didn't study CS or CE, and even
fewer have UNIX-specific background.

ABOUT THE JOB

We're primarily a Solaris shop, but you'll remote login from Windows.
I had to put up a little fight but we do have Cygwin - you can thank
me later =)
