   Description:
   Our client is seeking a Infrastructure Architect to be part of a
   highly energetic Business Applications Infrastructure team.



   You must be well-versed in technical and architectural aspects of
   Solaris & Linux ( Red hat ) Operating systems , & Performance
   Analysis methodologies and tools , Understanding of Enterprise
   Storage , DNS , NFS , Mail Protocols , TCP/IP , System Monitoring &
   Web Services. (Tomcat/Apache/Jboss ).



   Candidate will interface with application development teams in the
   Investment Management Business and will be participating in
   application infrastructure design , evaluation and implementation of
   new technologies & products.



   Candidate must have solid verbal and written communication skills ,
   organizational & presentation skills , and be comfortable working in
   a geographically diverse environment.



   Principal Responsibilities:
   Interface with application development teams as well various
   technology infrastructure teams.
   Engage with application development teams on current infrastructure
   projects , evaluate existing solutions & infrastructure and provide
   recommendations.
   Implementation of new products/projects/environments in the
   Enterprise Lab , Development & QA environments. Perform performance
   benchmarks and tuning required to gain optimal application
   performance.
   Incident management and reporting of production outages , root cause
   analysis & follow-ups.
   Provide consultancy to application development & business teams on
   infrastructure requirements.
   Engage & partner with technology infrastructure teams ( Engineering ,
   Operations etc) on working on commercial solutions that will tailor
   specific application infrastructure requirements
   Conduct performance analysis , trending & capacity planning. Provide
   metrics and analysis of existing gaps & make recommendations
   Develop run books for production support teams when needed
   Work with application development teams , technology finance groups &
   project management teams on yearly budgeting process for hardware &
   software purchases
   Communicate and guide application teams on Technology Infrastructure
   best practices



   Experience/Skills:
   The candidate should also meet these additional requirements:



   Strong inter-personal and communication skills , analytical and
   problem solving skills.
   Experience in integrating third party software & working & engaging
   vendors when required
   Solid understanding of UNIX/LINUX operating system fundamentals ,
   memory subsystems , inter-process communication , file system
   concepts , can use performance analysis & tools are required along
   with scripting skills ( Perl/Python/Shell )
   Experience as a Unix System Administrator in the past is not required.
   Experience in working with enterprise storage to some capacity is
   required , Websphere server architecture environment.
   Understanding of SAN layouts , various RAID types & Volume Management.
   Web services , Grid computing & experience is strongly desired.
   Familiarity with fundamental distributed computing environment
   concepts & design.
   Ability to create reports on trend\gap analysis and provide
   recommendation to address the risks.
   Must be able to sustain a high rate of workflow and work on multiple
   projects.
   Must have exposure to the project management role in an enterprise
   environment.
   Expertise in commercial & open source monitoring software &
   implementation
   Virtualization experience & methodology is strong plus
