  Collaborative Communities. Located in Menlo Park.


Description:

  We are seeking a bright, self-starting software engineer to build internal
  development tools. The ideal candidate combines expertise in object-oriented
  software development using Perl along with a strong background in C++,
  relational databases, and web based applications. 


Responsibilities:

  * Build content management, art creation, and development tools using Perl
    and C++. 

  * Design flexible solutions that support frequent UI and functionality
    changes. 

  * Create usable user interfaces and work flows. 

  * Work closely with members of the engineering team to ensure smooth code
    integration and system level operation. 

  * Partner with 2D and 3D Artists, Copy Editors, Producers, etc. to optimize
    their work flow and insure the delivery of a quality product.


Requirements:

  * 3+ years C/C++ with emphasis on object oriented design 
  * 2+ years experience with OO Perl (DBI is a plus) 
  * 2+ years experience with relational databases (MySQL, Oracle, etc.) 
  * 2+ years web based application development using HTML, XML, XSL, etc. 
  * Experience with content management, art path tools, & work flow design a
    plus 
  * Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. 
  * Must have good documentation skills and skills/willingness to keep code
    and documentation organized. 
  * Must have a customer-centric philosophy in gathering requirements and
    delivering products. 
  * Must be comfortable working in a small, fast-paced, entrepreneurial
    environment.
