Not sure how well this applies to tech jobs, but one thing my girlfriend
(recent UCD graduate) noticed is that she got zero responses if she
applied even three or four days after a listing appeared.  With a couple
of exceptions, all of her callbacks were jobs for which she applied the
same day as the listing hit.
