I'm no expert, but it looks like he's on the right track.  I *love* SuSE and 
KDE, but I notice that even with a faster machine, KDE 3.3 is running slower 
than earlier versions.  SuSE 9.2 seems to take longer to boot than SuSE 9.0.  
My barebones Debian Sarge boots a lot faster than SuSE.

What I think is that SuSE and KDE are becoming more and more bloated, and that 
this is affecting both boot and performance time.  (Look at all the audio CD 
players, etc. they come with.  Why so many?)
