"Stupid Net Tricks with AJAX" at SacLUG next month

The Sacramento Linux Users' Group [http://www.saclug.org/] meets on September 14th. Linus Sphinx will present part 3 of his continuing XML series, "Lethal Codin' III: This time it's portable," in which he will walk through the conversion of a web-based video game "into a completely table/frame/flash free interactive graphical wonder, demonstrating the awesome power of AJAX, CSS2, XHTML, XML and XSLT." This talk "may just alter your perception of web design completely, as you witness his fledgling MMORPG staggering to it's feet." Also, Brian Lavender will present a short slide show and tales from his visit with the Linux User Group of Havana, Cuba.

Davis Hacking Society coincides with LUGOD Socials

It appears that the Davis Hacking Society [http://www.daviswiki.org/Davis%20Hacking%20Society] meetings now coincide with LUGOD's social gatherings (first Tuesday of each month) and at the same location (the Delta of Venus cafe). So there's now twice as many reasons to hit Venus each month!
