News —
- Mary L. Stephens Branch (Davis Branch) of the Yolo County Library re-opened, and there was a celebration earlier this month. The Blanchard Room (where LUGOD met in the past, and will meet in the future) has increased in size, and has its own built-in video projector. Room reservations start once the room is open in early January, so the next few LUGOD meetings may or may not be at the library; we won't know until January.
Financial Report — $44.69 in voluntary dues were collected tonight. $50 in donations from August's installfest were received, as well.
Becoming a UC Davis "Campus Affiliate Group" — Alex reports that we still need 5 more signatures, and there's an annual fee of $30.

Oliver Kreylos, Project Scientist at the UC Davis Department of Geology, discussed, showed videos of, and demonstrated Virtual Reality displays (multi-projector/multi-walled immersive 3D environments and 3D televisions) input methods (ultrasound-located and infrared-reflection-detected wands and eyetracking glasses, and the Nintendo Wiimote and PlayStation Move video game controllers), and capture methods (dual-camera stereographic video recording, Light Detection And Ranging (LIDAR), and the Microsoft Xbox Kinect video game peripheral).
