• Glade. Glade is a free graphical user interface builder for GTK+ and Gnome.

• The installed header files (/usr/include/gtk/* etc) can be useful too, and often reveal functionality not yet mentioned in the documentation. (e.g.) the ability to reorder the elements of a list, type GtkCList. (Use gtk_clist_set_reorderable ( (GtkCList *)list, TRUE); )
