Docker is an open-source project that automates the deployment of<br>
applications inside software containers -- a server virtualization<br>
method in which the kernel of an operating system allows the existence<br>
of multiple isolated user-space instances, instead of just one.<br>
<br>
DockerCon, held recently in Austin, Texas, is a "community and container<br>
industry conference for makers and operators of next generation<br>
distributed apps built with containers ... with talks by practitioners,<br>
hands-on labs, an expo hall of Docker ecosystem innovators."<br>
<br>
This presentation will highlight some of the Linux- and<br>
open-source-related topics found at DockerCon 2017.<br>
Stephen will also briefly discuss the Docker Community, Mentoring<br>
and Higher Ed and Embassador program, and if time permits, audience<br>
participation in some demos.<br>
