<html><head></head><body>You may be overthinking this task. Recompiling the kernel doesn&#39;t need all those books... There are plenty of online howtos that cover recompiling. You don&#39;t need a kernel driver to start a userland program, either. You should be looking at a book on embedded linux. If you have custom hardware for which no drivers exist then you might need to write a driver.<br>
