The Linux Users' Group of Davis (LUGOD) will be holding the following meeting:

  Monday
  Ocotber 20, 2014
  7:00pm - 9:00pm

Presentation:
  "Web Application Hacking: How to Make and Break Security on the Web"

  presented by Wesley Aptekar-Cassels

  This talk will explain common vulnerabilities in web applications, how
  web apps are hacked, and finally how to make sure that your web apps
  aren't vulnerable. It will cover most of Open Web Application Security
  Project (OWASP)'s Top 10 Vulnerabilities from 2013, such as Cross Site
  Scripting (XSS), SQL injection, and Directory Traversal. We'll also
  touch on the wider world of Application and OS hacking.


About the speaker:

  Wesley is a high school student who enjoys writing code and learning
  about computer security.


Elections:

  Annual LUGOD officer election season begins. Nominations for officers
  will be accepted between October and November meetings.
