Passed along to us from our friends at the Davis Open Science
group ( http://openwetware.org/wiki/UC_Davis_Open_Science ).
Note: I don't actually see these events on that site,
but I'm not sure where else to link to. (I added these events
to our calendar over at http://www.lugod.org/ )
Enjoy!

Hello Open People!
Our meeting yesterday was pretty small, but it was very interesting and
productive. Carl has arranged for the founders of Mendeley to come talk
about the future of scientific collaboration. In expectation of this,
we are going to showcase and demonstrate the Mendeley software the day
before they come. The idea is that if more people are familiar with
Mendeley before the founders come, we can have a more productive,
higher-level discussion about scientific collaboration.
So, here are the two events:
1) Defrosting your digital library: A hands on introduction to Mendeley
software for organizing and sharing articles.
Carl and Luke, Davis Open Science
Monday November 15th, 4pm, 2334 Academic Surge Building.
If you want to follow along, create an account and install Mendeley on
your laptop and bring it on in.
2) A Startup's Vision for Connecting Researchers:
Mendeley Research Networks co-founders Jan Reichelt and Victor Henning.
Tuesday November 16th, 12:30pm, 1062 Bainer Hall.
"We want to provide the best productivity and collaboration platform to
every researcher, student and knowledge worker in the world - on the
desktop, web and mobile. Through the platform, we're crowdsourcing the
world*s largest open research database, and we enable everyone to build
applications on top of it. In doing so, we're helping to accelerate
scientific progress, drive scientific discovery, and make research more
open."
And here are some slides from one of their presentations:

We're looking forward to seeing you!
