Amazon Web Services are a collection of remote computing services

for other web sites or client-side applications. Most of these services
are not exposed directly to end users, but instead offer functionality
that other developers can use. Amazon Web Services' offerings are
accessed over HTTP, using REST and SOAP protocols, and are billed on
usage. The services include:
* Elastic Cloud Computing (EC2): scalable virtual private servers
* Simple Storage Service (S3): Web Service-based storage for applications
* Simple Queue Service (SQS): a message queue for web applications
* Amazon Mechanical Turk (Mturk): for managing small units of work
distributed amongst many people
* Amazon SimpleDB: for running queries on structured data
* Amazon CloudFront: a content delivery network (CDN) for distributing
S3 objects to 'edge locations' near the requester
* and a number of others
