D, http://www.digitalmars.com/d/, is an open source programming
language created by Walter Bright of Digital Mars. It evolved from
C++.

It is both a systems language that is as close to hardware as C, and a
high-level language with features like garbage collection, lazy
evaluation, pure functions, and more that are actively being designed
and developed.

A D programming book by well known C++ expert Andrei Alexandrescu will
soon be appearing in book stores.

Ali Cehreli has been working as a C++ programmer in Silicon Valley
since 1996. His experience has been with small and large companies in
various fields, currently with Riverbed.

Meetings are open to the public and are free of charge.
