My notes from the meeting:

Check Google of Code web site in February 2008 for applications and such:

requirements: 18+ years of age, enrolled as a student in April of year of
application

Hackers prefer to congregate at pubs (versus coffeehouses?)

After one year people might be able to become their own mentor

Breakdown:

GNOME: 40 kids
KDE: 40 kids
Ubuntu: 20 kids

$4.5 million budget

By country:

300 USA kids
100 Canadian kids
300 European kids
rest around the world (only 1 living in Africa)
