[vox] Debian + KDE vs. Kubuntu

I used to have a desktop running Debian until last summer, but then made
the switch to Ubuntu when I got a new Centrino laptop. Installation was
a breeze, and even the wireless worked out of the box.

The only thing that didn't work was the headphone jack. Since I couldn't
live with the internal speakers, I compiled and installed a new 2.6.15
kernel, which fixed that (but in turn broke my WiFi).

As far as support goes: I found most answers on the Ubuntu Forums.
Real-time support on the IRC channel was so-so.

In general, though, I'm quite happy with it. It's less work than Debian,
and more appropriate to my skill level.
