Anyone from LUGOD interested in helping the Debian crew with a booth at LWE
this year? They're ISO a coordinator, as you can read below...

Hello BAD,
It may seem a long time from now but LWCE [1] is fast approaching. If
anyone was there last year, you know that we will be sure to properly
register a Debian booth for this year as we have learned our lesson.
Right?
(For those who weren't there last year -- we didn't have a booth. We
squatted. We stole some company's free poster, turned it around, and
drew a Debian swirl on it, and taped it to the top of the booth we were
squatting in. We held a collection and got some money that went who
knows where. We sat around like losers, leeched off people's wireless
networks, and talked about Debian while Peter Palfrader did some
wholesale keywhoring. It was a disaster, really.)
Jaldhar Vyas, who was responsible for arranging LinuxWorld in NY (which
apparently was very successful) sent me the registration forms for the
SF one. I contacted Hans Uhlig who was interested in organizing it this
year, but he seems to be very busy at work. Therefore I offer the
position of organizer to anyone in BAD (possibly even LUGOD.)
The organizer MUST:
1. register and send in the forms for the booth in Debian's name [2]
2. coordinate things for people to bring, print out, burn, etc. Last year
Gentoo had a few cool machines running Gentoo for people to play with.
3. coordinate set-up people and clean-up people (probably want people who
live in the SF metro area)
4. ????
5. Profit!
I don't care who it is, but he or she _must_ carry these tasks out if we
are to have a successful LWCE representation for Debian this year at
LWCE. It could even be John Hereon. Also task #1 needs to be completed
ASAP because the booth policy is first come first serve. I fear that I am
not of the appropriate age to register for the booth in Debian's name.
Plus, I have finals in T minus 3 days, so.. -ENOTIME.
Please notify the list if you are interested in doing all of this. This
topic probably needs some discussion. Alternatively, we can agree to
split these tasks out. This could be a good discussion topic for the
upcoming meeting in Berkeley. (Sadly, I don't think I'll be able to
attend. Too far. I will call a Bay Area meeting for July, promise.)
