Hello,
I figure some of you are old enough to remember the story from Clifford
Stoll (Book "The CooCoo's Egg" and PBS show on NOVA called "The KGB My
Computer and Me") and how he tracked a $0.75 discrepency in billing from
system use.
As it turned out, he uncovered a story of "International Espionage where
secrets were being sold to the Soviets."
It wasn't until last year that I realized the movie "23 - Nichts ist so
wie es Scheint" (23 - Nothing is as it Seems) was actually an attempt to
tell the story from the other side of the Atlantic! (The German group who
was breaking into the systems.) (Film from Germany (1998))
Anyway, some friends of mine got together and worked on som subtitles for
this film. I would put it on par with "War Games" (The movie) as being
technically correct. (Maybe even better than War Games.)
In this film we actually see genuine uses of older machines from the 80's.
We see Atari (hey Bill) Commodore, IBM and even a PDP-11 gets some screen
time!
I know we have people on this list who might enjoy this peek at 80's
computer stuff, and others who might want to see this film with English
subtitles since they have been hard to come-by.
Anyway subtitles here:

You're on your own for finding the file that will work with them:
