I haven't had time to read through your whole paper but you might want to look at this article which was recently mentioned on Slashdot: http://www.consultingtimes.com/ossdev.html

It is a slightly different slant than you are working on because it broadly covers the development side of OSS but it is an important point of view to understand because it covers the collaborative processes that are core to the success of OSS.
