[vox-tech] Another Round of eth0 Problemas

OK. I installed a working NIC from another box (it is a 10/100 so I
insmodded 3c509 to get it going) and got the card to run for about 45
minutes, then the same problems started up again. So I'm guessing we can
rule out hardware or driver?
Observations:
I have an HTML redirect pointing to the main Plone site, and Apache serves
that up (maybe a cached copy?), but then I get the IE error page 'The page
cannot be displayed' for the Plone site. Zope doesn't seem to respond. When
this happens my PuTTY terminal usually stays connected.
Sometimes I'll try to load the same page and the redirect does not load nor
do any Apache or Zope served pages, and the PuTTY connection gets dropped.
A third time I loaded up the Zope Managment Interface (ZMI) which is a
frames page and I'll get 1 of the 3 frames to load, the other two have the
'The page cannot be displayed' error, which seems to indicate that Zope is
running but can't completely serve up the request. PuTTY stays connected.
Software issue?
I check and re-check running processes using top and webmin 'Running
Processes' module, but nothing seems to pop up.
What types of things could bring down a NIC frequently/temporarily and? The
card function returns after a while without me having to ifdown/ifup.
