I tried the steps you sugested but linux couldnt mount my windows xp
partition cause its NTFS

i tried the following commands:

mount -a /dev/hda1 /mnt/windows
mount -t NTFS /dev/hda1 /mnt/windows
mount -U 7 /mnt/windows

all of them replied this:
NTSF is not an allowed partition or something like that
