I'm a recient Linux convert and have installed Yoper (kernel 2.6.8.1-8) on 
my Toshiba Satellite 5105-501. Native LCD (15" SVGA+) resolution is 
1400x1050 and current 1280x1024 lower resolution makes things a bit fuzzy 
(yuck!). The graphics card is nvidia GeForce4 440 Go. The nvidia driver is 
6111-1. I also have a ~7mm black bar on the right side of the screen.

Goal is to have 1400x1050 and no black bar.

From what I've read (nvidia install readme appendix K) it seems that the 
EDID is liying and needs to be turned off and then the modprobe.conf option 
"options nvidia NVreg_Mobile=2" added.

I've added "options nvidia NVreg_Mobile=2" to modprobe.conf. (also tried 
Mobile=4)

I use SAX 2: configure graphics card -> expert and select IgnoreEDID.
When I test, I get two test splash screens on my display. They use the whole 
width though. So I cancel.
