Good summary.

I'd also recommend checking out amavisd.  It has many advantages:
* avoid fork/exec per email, even with spamassasin
* reject email BEFORE it's accepted (much like sendmail + milter)
* allows rejection by attachment filename (.bat, .pif, .com, .exe, etc.)
* easily allows integration of many virus scanners, including the opensource
  clamav.
* can check mimetypes
* can quarantine rejected files for later inspection/analysis

It compliments postfix and spamassassin quite nicely.
