The OSX boot CD has a disk utility on it.
If it won't boot from the CD you may have problems. Be sure to unplug
all peripherals before you panic.

After you boot, it will come up to the install screen. Don't worry.
You don't have to reinstall.
Under the Installer menu, at the first screen, you can get to the Disk Utility.

Run it.
If that doesn't fix it, you may need to do a clean install.
Choose the option of "Archive and Restore", which will preserve your
user/network settings.

good luck!
