[vox-tech] Checking for bad blocks on a partition?

Nowadays with hard drives failing like tests, how do you find out whether
a partition has bad blocks or not?  ExtN automatically marks a partition
bad if it finds a bad block, right?  Where does that information get
stored and how do I view them?

If they're not marked, how does ExtN recover from a bad block?
