I just got a call from a friend who suggested that I unplug/remove anything not absolutely necessary. Maybe it would have been good for me to let you know I also have a (NEC) ZIP-100, and Soundblaster 128-PCI, which the friend recommended I remove. I will get back to you when I have done that and tried the installation again.
