Okay, but you might as well try explicitly declaring the amount of video RAM
in the configuration file. Example from my /etx/X11/XF86Config-4:

	Section "Device"
		Identifier  "Generic Video Card"
		Driver      "glint"
		VideoRam 8192
	EndSection    =20
