something must have been upgraded, because i can no longer compile any
of my docbook stuff. NONE of it works anymore. here's the error
message:

  p@satan% make
  jade -t tex -d
  '/usr/share/sgml/docbook/stylesheet/dsssl/modular/print/docbook.dsl'
  mpg.sgml
  jadetex mpg.tex
  This is TeX, Version 3.14159 (Web2C 7.3.7)
  (Fatal format file error; I'm stymied)
  make: *** [all] Error 1

the make file:

  TIMESTAMP=`/bin/date +'%Y-%b-%d-%H-%M'`
  STYLE='/usr/share/sgml/docbook/stylesheet/dsssl/modular/print/docbook.dsl'
  BACKUPDIR='/usr/local/backup/mpg'
  WEBDIR='/www/linux/writing'

  all:
     jade -t tex -d ${STYLE} mpg.sgml
     jadetex mpg.tex
     jadetex mpg.tex
     dvips -o mpg.ps mpg.dvi

and the first line of the document:

  <!DOCTYPE article PUBLIC "-//OASIS//DTD DocBook V3.1//EN">

i am DEFINITELY a "user" of docbook. it's not something i'm out to know
very much about; just something i want to use. we have to pick and
choose, right?   :)

can someone help me out? what's going wrong? this stuff all worked a
few weeks ago.
