[vox-tech] ieee 1394

I have a little bit of experience with firewire under Linux. I have a
Cannon Optura PI and a DLink (forgot the model) ieee1394 card. I load the
raw1394 and video1394 modules, and that seems to work. I use devfs, and
the device appears as /dev/raw1394, I believe. I have had luck with dvgrab
dvcont (or dtcont--I'm at work right now, so I can't remember the exact
name of the program).

I'm planning to sample the Maddog talk using these tools (though I'll have
to do titles in Premiere--oh well), then dump to DVD.

PS: Has anyone burned a DVD using Linux? I am interested in any DVD
authoring tools that may be available.
