[vox-tech] IDE recommendations

I have used kdevelope, but I am still very shaky when it comes to any real
programming. I am still learning cpp and c. 

The biggest problem I run into is what to do. I spend most of my programming
time reinventing the wheel because I am working with class assignments. I am
starting to look at source code and I can actually follow some of it fairly
well, but not well enough to add anything to the code base. I am in that
place were I want to help, but have no idea what to do. 

This would be a topic I would personally like to took into. For those of us
who want to contribute to the open source world, but have no idea what to
do. I don't want to waste anyone's time IE asking a group what they need
help with seems like a negative help. They don't know me what I am able to
do (which seams little). How dependable I am will only be proven when I
start contributing to projects, but again where should I start. This may be
a better vox subject or even a good discussion subject for a talk. 

Or perhaps I am rambling again.

well, we could try a talk on linux IDE's.  each talk would be on the
short side.  i could do a talk on snavigator (which i've used before)
or whatever i decide to try (i'm going to research a few IDE's today).

anyone else work with linux IDE's?   we can ask if someone uses an IDE
in saclug and do a combined talk for both lugod and saclug.  maybe we
can try to poll nblug or roselug for IDE users.
