[vox-tech] IDE recomendations

i never found an IDE i liked better than vim, but i'm going to give it
another try.
does anyone here use an IDE? interfacing with gdb is necessary (i don't
know if that's standard for an IDE). maybe some nice ddd like features.
a plus is if i don't have to "create a project" or some nonsense like
that. i'm a hacker, not a software developer. ;) something that
doesn't leave control files everywhere would be nice too.
any recommendations?
