[vox-tech] Peters Kernal Update and a Few Questions

The SuSE disk is fine. When I installed the system the first time I decided
to use ext3 instead of reiserfs. I kept having trouble with performance.
When I ran %top -h I discovered that I was taking a major hit (sometimes) in
journaling. I reinstalled using reiserfs and all is working fine. The
trouble appears to be in the implementation of ext3 (the journaling system I
would prefer to use). Peter mentioned in his discussion about the current
Kernal projects that ext3 was implemented in 2.4.16 while I have 2.4.10
(this comes with SuSE 7.3). I decided to try 2.4.16 and convert a few
partitions to ext3 to see if this fixes the trouble.
