   I was referred to your user group as my client is looking to hire a QA
   Engineer to join their team.  The desired skills needed for the team is
   experience testing on Linux platforms and the ability to be the Linux go

   Quality Assurance Test Engineer

    

   Permanent, Full-Time position

   Sacramento, CA

    

   Become an integral part of a diverse team that leads the world in Mission,
   Cyber and Intelligence Solutions. 

    

   Responsibilities:

   - Develop, modify, execute functional and regression tests for responsible
   product areas

   - Perform functionality, compatibility, integration, regression,
   performance, stress, security, exploratory and benchmark testing on our
   software products

   - Have hardware knowledge to perform system installation and setup for
   test activities

   -  Document all encountered bugs, subsequent fixes and verification
   results in our bug tracking system

   - Identify, analyze and troubleshoot problems

   - Adhere to team priorities and work well in an integrated
   developer/tester environment

    

   Position Requirements:

   - 3+ years' experience in Software Testing/Quality Assurance (Client
   Server software application testing preferred)

   - 3 + years' recent experience using Linux Operating Systems, specifically
   the command shell

   - Hands on experience with Linux based services including installation and
   upgrade processes

   - Ability to write and execute a comprehensive software test plan

   - Ability to accurately estimate testing efforts

   - Ability to work effectively on multiple efforts simultaneously

   - Experience in all phases of the software development life cycle

   - Solid testing skills and overall understanding of quality processes and
   testing methodologies

   - Very organized and strong attention to detail with the ability to meet
   deadlines

   - Degree in a technical field:  Computer Science or Engineering a plus

    

   Desired Skills:

   -  Experience with Gentoo is a plus

   - Experience with Shell Scripting

   - Installation and management of QA Lab

   - Understanding, Networking, IP, WAN/LAN, and configuration of hardware
   appliances

   - Good knowledge in Virtual Machines, Hyper-V or Zen Virtual machine
   systems
