My Washington, D.C client needs a full time, on-site, hourly-paid PHP/Zend
Developer for a 5-year contract position paying to $75.00 per hour. More
money possible for exemplary candidates. Must work on-site for the duration
of the project so I need local candidates or the ability to relocate to DC
at own expense for the duration. Applicants must have good command of the
English language and can work for any employer without complication.
Multiple roles of the same available. Python/Django roles also available for
the same client, duration and rate.  

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Under minimal direction performs as a senior web application developer in
the design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of new software to
existing software. Particular emphasis is on PHP5 and Zend. Experience with
Oracle, MySQL, large scale application development, and OO programming is a
must. Relevant technical skills include Content Management System (CMS)
development, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, UNIX, SVN, Trac, Wikis, and Web 2.0.
Works with technical staff to understand and develop new web applications or
rewrite existing legacy applications. Resolves customer complaints with web
applications and responds to suggestions for software modifications or
enhancements. Participate in the development of software documentation such
as version description document and user manuals. Assists in the training of
less experienced software development staff and may act as team leader on
complex projects. 
 
Required Qualifications: 

* Requires bachelor's degree (in Computer Science or related field) or
equivalent, and 5 to 7 years of PHP programming experience 
* Zend Framework, MVC, MySQL, Oracle, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Web Services,
SOAP, and UNIX also required or a majority of these skills  
 
Desired Qualifications: 

* Specific technical qualifications include experience with two different
PHP frameworks, jQuery, AJAX, JAVA/JSP, source code version control, and web
production environments 
* Experience with Perl, strong understanding of various SDLC methodologies,
ability to multitask, and leadership skills a major plus
